I know a couple of people (business owners) who are interested in selling t-shirts related to their business. These are not "friends" per se but individuals my husband has had contact with through his work.

They'd like me to create some simple designs for them to sell (I'd also probably have to show them how to setup a shop too) but I have no idea what I should charge for this!! Does anyone know?? These designs wouldn't be used for personal use but for the companies to sell for profit.

Anyone with experience doing this please PM me if you're uncomfortable posting the information here.

Thanks!

rather than charge a flat fee, i'd "license" designs to the business and get a percentage from whatever they sell. you can find free "licensing agreement" fill-in-the-blank forms with a google search.

Ive found that many of the businesses I work with are not interested in managing a shop and getting anything from the sales at all. I just open a new shop in their name, put up their shirts, and handle it entirely myself.

If they do want to manage the shop then I just sell them the designs. Im not thrilled with long contracts. I find that its often not worth it just to get abit off of each sale.
