{Moved this to a new thread who would look under deli.cio.us for Kaboodle info?}
I'm up ... started an account last night (under Cartesian Bear, of course), and I have most of my designs up already. I also put a "Add to Kaboodle" button in my base html in my shop.
I still have to add tags and adjust text. Anyone know if we have to pay attention to good SEO here?
Kaboodle really does look like a good way to market our stuff. Thanks, Hilly, for mentioning them.

I've never heard of them before, but I'll check them out now.

I just started a Kaboodle group for Printfection shop owners, named "Printfection Shop Owners".
If you start a Kaboodle account to list your stuff, join the group. This will give us more exposure and some cross-linking between shops.
At the moment anyone can join our group. [I don't want to be stuck approving members.] If we get spammed or non PF members, I'll change this.

I opened an account and just joined the new PF group. Thank you Liz! Now I have to figure out exactly what I'm supposed to do in there. I have a new big blue K in my browser toolbar so I guess after dinner I'll click it and see what happens. :D

I talked with a girlfriend this morning and sent her in to look around Kaboodle. She checked out my page and started her surfing there, going to the Printfection group, and checking out other members, clicking on lists, and finding not just Printfection shops, but also for CP and IK and other places, then clicking on more images that took her several pages into Kaboodle, before eventually ending up on pages for those other PODs.
Her overall thought ... "There's no way in $!&!$ I'm gonna do that much clicking around, getting lost, trying to find my way back, and never finding the actual item I originally saw 100 pages ago! It's too confusing and time consuming!"
Kaboodle may be good for more search engine spidering, but after doing some surfing around myself, I think she's right. This may not bring in much in the way of sales. Even getting into the Printfection group, depending on what member you click on, you're headed into the competition and not PF.

Iīm sure I read somewhere that thereīs a sort of "wish list" where you can gather all the items youīre interested in.
Although I havenīt found out everything there is to know about that place ...
Anyway - for me itīs a cheap and easy (and fast!) way to get inbound, non-reciprocal links to my shops and products. I donīt really expect anybody to buy from there (not that Iīd show them the door if they would :D)

We're allowed to make lists from just about anywhere I think, at least for listing products. Actually the software Kaboodle uses for gathering certain info when you enter an URL is quite impressive. I just wish the route for getting to a product was a bit shorter. :D

I just wish the route for getting to a product was a bit shorter. I guess I am confused about that comment.... you just click on it, and it brings you to the buying page in your shop.
I guess it's just my experience that if someone is interested in an image or a link, they click on it. It seems like a person's natural response. So I guess what I am saying is. If they found the product through a group, or just in Kaboodles main area doesn't matter. If they click on it, then they can buy it. So I don't see the hassle.
I have a couple of products up there, about 6 I think. I have not noticed in-bound links yet, but I have been slacking on combing through my statcounter lately. If I start to see it really pick up.. I'll post about it.
I tried to join the group, but nothing happened. Does it take a bit of time?
Something I'm not very happy about is when you bring up the group, Cesarian Bear is the only thing you see. You have to go way down the bottom in order to see the rest of the group. Now, Cesarian Bear has great stuff, but if someone comes in and only sees her, how do we get exposure? Just wondering.
On this same line, Squidoo also has a very similar type of site and I have all my stores there too

Cesarian???
It's not my intent to steer everyone to my stuff only. I'm still trying to figure out Kaboodle, so feel free to teach me.
The idea with the group was to get everyone better prescence at Kaboodle. If this isn't working I'll take the group down.

I like the way the group is set up, but Liz, you've got to stop with these unauthorized surgeries. :D

Cesarian???
What did you have in the end ?! :D
And you keep the group just as it is.
The reason you are up top is because you are the "group leader". All groups there are set up like that.

Well, my husband refers to himself as a bear, and calls me a cat, so we joke about having 2 young wolverines. (wolverines are sometimes called bearcats.)
And they funny thing is, there were both section births!

Oh, no, no, no, please, that was not my intention at all. I'm still trying to figure it out myself and was just making a comment. Sorry, I didn't mean to imply anything. :o
I have added Kaboodle application to my facebook account. But I cannot see any of my items on facebook. What is wrong?

I had one from there, too after a couple of days.
And hereīs a quote from my post on Gavinīs SEO thread:
I just checked for a couple of keywords on Google, and on the first five pages four of my Kaboodle entries were found - so having lists on there is helping people find you, too. Although the links go to my Kaboodle profile, the shopper can find the shop(s) or buy the product directly from there. Plus the added benefit of inbound links from a relevant site.

I've gotten a few hits too. Good ones -- they came and looked around a bit.
I don't get too many sales anyway, so that doesn't bother me.
Kaboodle does seem to be working.

So as I read the other posts talking about the visits they get via Kaboodle I decide it time to do something with my Kaboodle profile. The only problem is I have no clue what I'm doing. I've muddled around on there and added a couple of lists, one with some of my "designs" but I doubt I'm doing it correctly. Can somebody refer me to somewhere on Kaboodle where it explains for idiots what we are supposed to do in order to make Kaboodle work for us?
Thanks for any help.

I've joined the kaboodle printfection group as well - thanks cartesian bear for setting it up. I'm new to kaboodle and trying to figure things out.
I noticed that each of the 7 items I have under the one list I've created show up in the kaboodle search with a rating of 3 out of 5 stars - which is fine, except that I'm not sure if in setting up my list of products I inadvertantly did that or has some one seriously come along within a matter of minutes and rated all of my items? (which doesn't seem as likely...) or am I missing something about kaboodle ratings? just curious...

Just wanted to tell all kaboodlers that I have had a hit from someone elses kaboodle list in one of my shops (not a person I know or count to my circle of friends). They apparently found and added one of the products from my lists. No sale - but it does tell me the small amount of time I spend adding stuff to my lists might prove of value in the future!

I've seen a nice bit of activity from my Kaboodle work, too. No sales yet, but lots of visitors.
One thing I've seen that brings comments is the Poll section. Right now I have a poll up with 3 of my Scientist's Birthday shirts. I've had 20 poll responses, and people look at my other shirts, which brings them into the store. I've had at least a dozen visitors since I put up my Kaboodle info, which is good traffic for me.
Plus, the holidays are coming, and people will be looking for gifts. I'm curiousto see if I get any holiday sales through Kaboodle.
