Hello - Does anyone here use the delicious.com / del.ico.us site? - - Utilizing the tags, bookmarks, etc for marketing their POD sites?

There certainly has to be a way to use this or other social bookmarking for linking up to our shirt sites, blogs, marketing, etc.....

Does anybody have any experience with this - or comments?

Would love to see a discussion on this.

Thanks

Havenīt tried it - but I just opened an account with Kaboodle (http://www.kaboodle.com/zd/home) . They are perfect for me, I havenīt got the time for writing blogs etc., Kaboodle welcomes retailers, lets you make lists with your products, you can add your own tags, descriptions etc., and socialise with other shoppers - something like MySpace, only shameless promotion of your own goods is allowed and wanted. Itīs a portal for people sharing their "finds" shopping on the īnet. If you use firefox thereīs a gadget that does all this with one click - very time saving!
I donīt whether it brings in any visitors, but it makes for lots of inbound links!

Kaboodle looks very interesting ... Hilly, can you go into a bit of detail on how you are setting things up? Do you know if we can bulk add things from our shops? Should we set up a Printfection group or tag?

I have ignored my shop too long!

Liz, Iīve only been on Kaboodle a couple of days. And I havenīt found all the possibilities it has yet:)

Basically you set up an account, then make "lists", you can make as many as you like. You add your products ("finds") to these list by going into your shops , choose one product and "add to Kaboodle" (I use the firefox widget, but thereīs a way to ease things up with IE, too). Thereīs no way to bulk add, but it took me about 15 minutes to set up the first five lists. I spend about that time every day adding new items.
Thereīs a way to add whole lists to your website, blog etc.
You can initiate "polls" (which shirt would you buy, do you like best, shouls I buy etc) which will appear in a list of polls that appears on the home page.
You can set up a "friends" network like on MySpace.
And as a retailer you can add buttons "add to kaboodle" on your product pages in your shop, so people can add the item to their "wishlist" on kaboodle.
Also people can buy directly from kaboodle, thereīs a "buy now" button on your list. Clicking the picture of the product takes you to your shop.
And, yes, I think we should start a PF group - thereīs a CP group on there already.

Hereīs a link to my profile (http://www.kaboodle.com/teeshirttotal), and for more info the best thing is have a look on the Get started/FAQ (http://www.kaboodle.com/zd/help/getStarted.html) and the retailers info (http://www.kaboodle.com/zm/retailers).

Letīs get out there and make PF known and loved by the shoppers!:)

I've not tried kaboodle yet but thought they were only a ppc advertising source. i didnt realize they had added all those other amenities. shall give them a try. have tried most of the other ppc engines, at least major ones, yahoo!, google, etc and have either run into horrible ppc pricing, getting lost in a huge crowd being a small fish, bad or no customer service (phone), etc.
Finally found adcenter.microsoft.com and like them; the phone and email response is immediate to questions asked, and they even spent an hour with me on the phone showing me how to enhance my efforts using phrase, match content, exact word, etc. I think the others offer all that but it is confusing on how to work it, ms walked me right through it on the phone. hit quality has been high thus far but too early to make a real judgement. will keep you informed.

i use de.li.cio.us daily, along with wordpress, digg, etc. I write a separate story or blog or press release for each one and then ping them from the major pinging sites kping.com, pingoat.com, and pingomatic.com. this further promotes your blogging efforts; i like the setup of wordpress.com in that you can find and add your own keywords and it bookmarks them on your site and you can check the ones you want added to each story and even add new ones.

dont forget about the major ezines like ezinearticles.com and helium.com and others. begin writing articles about anything to do with what you do; it is much more subtle marketing; very non-shameless-self-promotion, in fact they don't even allow it and will not post if if so, but they give you a "shameless promotion" box at the bottom for all articles. unfortunately most of the pinging services will not accept articles from major ezines (or they would be flooded) but i do find my articles occasionally seeping onto google, yahoo, etc. so it does work (article marketing) plus, this is the way to make you "the expert" in your field.

in fact, after you've written a certain number of articles, you DO become an "expert author" in the field and they list you as such; they prioritize evaluating your article and you know within one or two days if it needs editing and such, otherwise can take weeks with some major ezines. don't mess with the lesser knowns i'm told; they don't give much exposure, plus hte links back to your site (in the ego box) is very helpful to both you and PF, so always remember to add it and a little about yourself.

to give you an idea of how well de.lio.us, wordpress, digg etc work, simply type my store name ricklondonwear.com into google and you will see the various blogs, articles, etc. and which keywords were used that attracted the search engines and blogging networks.

hope this helps. thanks everyone for your advice and feedback as well on my questions. am utilizing them and they seem to be working.

One of the things I like best about Kaboodle is it generates html for slide show of your products that you can put in your blog, websites, etc. Very cool, as it's a copy/paste deal.

http://www.seomoz.org is probably my favorite place to learn about SEO. I could spend hours there if I'm not careful!! Lots of good and accurate/reliable information there... The blog is my favorite section of the site but their articles are also very helpful.
