Images in Basket not displaying properly

There seems to be a bug lately with picking background colors for images in our image baskets. The images display all wonky in the basket. I checked the marketplace for one of my WONKY images, and it shows up there fine.....

However, the image color that I chose for it, WHITE, does not show in the marketplace. The marketplace shows the image on Blue Frost.

Above is a screenshot: The left side is my image in the basket, and when I check it, it does indeed show in the dropdown, that I have chosen white as the background for it... but you can see, the display is all crazy. The right side, is a screenshot of the SAME IMAGE in the marketplace. The fine lines of the images look great, but as you can see, the image is being displayed on Blue, instead of the white that I have chosen for it.

Just thought you guys should know this is happenning. And sorry, not sure when it started, my older images don't appear to be effected, but I need to check more thoroughly to be sure. Most of my images are Jpegs, so maybe this is only happenning with PNGs...

I also noticed a difference in the quality of my "white" images in the basket. But it seems a recent development. Images of the same type of graphic that were loaded prior to 8-3-07 look just fine in the basket, and images I loaded after that date are all blocky and unreadable. Fortunately though it only appears this way in my image basket. The product pages look fine and the product in the mall looks fine too.

(My files are transparent background PNG in white text, with dark background selected in the basket just so I can see them).

According to this forum, there WAS a "site speed improvement" performed by PF on 7-26-07 and it is possible that this is related to the problem. The timing does coincide with the appearance of this behavior, and the "speed improvement" was related to the upload speed of images to the basket. (See Announcements & news section of the forum).

PS. I also posted this to another thread that was referring to this same issue although it was related to section image usage. If this is a no-no, I apologize. I just wanted to relay my take on this issue in the hope it might shed some light on the timing of it's appearance and aid in the troubleshooting for the PF folks.

I agree, my older images look ok too.

The only problem in the marketplace is that with those images that are affected.... you can no longer choose which color background shows up behind it. So yes, the images don't look distorted.... but in some cases they show up with funky colors behind them.

Finally got a chance to look at this. It was definitely a bug which only affected images in the image basket. When you change the background color it should show the correct color in the image basket now.
