I have a fabulous new store that I'm working on images for.... (I'm soooooo freakin' excited) :D it will take me a while, but once I get it finished, I want to pull it into my own domain for marketing purposes....

At the other place, there are scripts that allow you to do that easily.... is there anything like it available for PF? If not, what's the easiest way to do it? And I'm not a techno-goddess... I'll need the purple crayon version.... :D

Kayecee,

Right now, there is not a simple way to do it. You would have to create links to products / sections manually from your of site. You could try using an iFrame, but I think that prevents the shopping cart from working.

You might be able to use palmetto's google base feed to suck all your products into an ecommerce solution like Zencart or osCommerce. I've never tried it, but theoretically it should be possible.

I've been thinking about this myself, so might see if I can get something done PHP script wise over the next couple of weeks.

Cheers

Gavin

I'm also in need of the purple crayon, but I think GreatGear posted something about beta testing for a PF API. Wouldn't an API (and friendly programmers) do this?

happy as all get-out that my first AppleScript program worked! It should -- the only code was to quit.

Question for Kevin and / or Casey.

Would using a script to display sections and products from a store on an external web site go against any of the terms of service? I couldn't see anything specific, but then I'm not much of a law talkin' guy.

Just to further illustrate my question about TOS. Would either of the following two examples be a problem. Both of these use PHP scripting to display offsite sections and product listings and then because of the way the the shopping cart works, will direct back to the PF store once the shopper wants to see product details.

Option 1: Full store replica

Option 2: Listings embedded in another site

This is cool! But how do you get people back to your main domain page? Or do you want to do that? Would it be better to leave them in the PF pages to do the rest of their surfing/shopping?

I love no. 2 as well, Gavin! That looks really cool! And you could always implement a link back to the off-site domain and leave the cussies a choice of staying or going back ...

I was working on something like this as well, but had to shelve it due to some other higher priorities.

I had it at a point where it is basically the same as Gavin's. I'm hoping the Printfection API and Terms of Service will allow an even better solution.

Me like.... me like.... me want.... me want.... :D :D :D :D

Kayecee,

I can make this a purple crayon thing. I just need Casey or Kevin to let me know that they are OK with it.

Gavin,

The two examples you provided are OK for now. Once we get the API rolling we will ask you to make use of it instead of your current methods, but for now this looks OK. Thanks for asking before going ahead with it!
