I am in the process of putting together a presentation package for a museum that has shown some interest in my Temple of Horus pieces. I've never done this before and have no idea how to go about it. My plan is to come up with a price. I'm thinking they can have them for the same price in the store and all the discounts for multiple purchases. I'm also thinking of buying a couple of items from the store and presenting them with these. They would be "gifts" if you will. Here are some of the questions I have

1. Should I make the shirts and gift items with my web site on them, or make up something special with the name of their museum on them.

2. Should I structure the pricing different from what's in my store? If so, what price should I charge them.

3. When presenting the package to them, should I have a bound copy with the pricing structure, and... what else?

4. When presenting the package, should I wear one of the shirts?

These all may sound like stupid question to some of you, but I really want to come across as a professional and someone that knows what their doing.
OK here are a couple more. These are questions for the furture if they decide to buy from me.

1. Should I open (but keep closed) a seperate store with just their things on it? They can either go directly to the store and buy what and when they need it. Or they can call me and order this and that. Which brings me to a sub question
A. If they order from me, should I just order through the site and have them mailed directly to them? Or deliver them in person? I have no idea their payment structure so it might depend on that.

2. I don't know if they have a web site, but if they do, would it be easier if we set up a link to PF for their customers to buy directly from? If they don't should I recommend they set one up just for this type of thing?

That's about it (Oh, is that all?? :D) As you can see, I have no idea how to go about all of this. I'm sure there are some of you out there that have come across this type of marketing and want to know how you handled it. Even if you haven't, you ideas and suggestions are most welcome.

Congratulations!

I would make them with the musuem's name on them. Think about the merchandise that is displayed in some of the top theme parks gift shop. You kinda want to follow that lead for ideas. This museum could be a big client for you!

If you put your url on the design (use small text), I suggest registering a seperate domain name to use.

www. templeofhorus. com or something similiar would promote better than using the printfection web address/shop extention. Last I check yahoo had a domain special for $1.99 and then you can just forward it to your printfection shop. You'll also get to use 1 professional email address for the account until you decide to upgrade.

Yes, wear one of the shirts! And take small gifts to leave with them. Like some of the designs on the coasters and/or mousepads. I don't know your budget.

If you have time you can shoot over to Vista Print, and put some of those designs on presentation folders to give out and leave with them. Have your pricing structure, website info and other stuff inside on printed sheets. Actually you could put the coasters and/or mousepads gifts in one of the inside folder pockets.

I would set up a store just for them and keep it hidden. That way they can order as needed. Their customers should be purchasing directly from the museum's website or in person at the museums gift shop. I don't recall any place of that nature that would redirect a customer to a third party site.

Pricing ... I'm not sure on, but keep in mind that they will have to resell to their customers. So you wouldn't want to go too high on mark-up, but you don't wanna give it away either.

Good Luck!

Oh, thank you so much. You have some very good ideas here. I'm a little confused about the outside web site though. If I open one in Yahoo, do I need to set it up with all the columns and such, or can I set it up so that when the customer clicks on www.templeofhorus.com, it automatically goes to the PF store. Won't that confuse them? I see your point though about having an outside store.

You're welcome. No problem! You have a great opportunity knocking at your door. I LUV your stuff! I've already bought 1 shirt from your Gone Postal store and plan on purchasing some more.

All you have to do is go into the yahoo domain control panel and click on domain forwarding, type in your printfection shop address, save it and that's it. No other work. the customer will automatically go to the PF store.
:)

They won't be confused. A LOT of shopkeepers do that. And then in the same panel you get to set up one professional email address like info@templeofhorus .com or sales@templeofhorus .com

Have fun!
