Paid Advertising:

If you don't want to go the free route or already are and looking for another traffic avenue. Try a paid route: adbrite.com is an extremely large text ad network that allows you to sell & buy ad spots on a wide variety of sites. Everything from blogs, multimedia, directories, etc, can be found on this site.
Adbrite.com allows you to advertise to a select region (USA, UK, etc) and then by categories (age 18-24, shopping, travel, entertainment), which is something that I highly recommend. Organizing your ad campaigns in this matter will allow you to receive much more targeted traffic. Don't select world wide and then some random categories, you will only be waisting your money.

Thanks! That site looks good and you gave some great tips! :D

Any other places that y'all have found to advertise? Blogging does pretty good for me...... I haven't had much luck with Squidoo and don't have the patience for MySpace.... I've just added a Twitter to one of my sites to see if it brings any customers. Some shopkeepers have also started Facebooks. I'm just not sure if the "social sites" bring in that much business for the amount of work involved. That's one reason that I'll probably start trying out some paid ads.

On a related note: If you are looking into adbrite, I suggest taking a peek at their BritePic tool. It's allows you to add dynamic content to to an image. I use it all the time for pimping stuff on my blog(s).

The links you create from social networking sites count towards against your incoming links and page rank, so that is reason enough to maintain them. I always consider the drive-by traffic a bonus. :)
